Gina Peasnall – About Me
My passion for horses started at an early age when I learnt to ride at the age of 4 and I was fortunate to own my first pony aged 7. Since then I have always owned ponies and horses and it had always been an ambition of mine to one day make a career from my passion! I have competed at Endurance, Show-Jumping, Polo and these days my focus is Dressage.
My first homebred foal, Minnie was born to my mare, Belle in May 2012 and I have high hopes for her as a future dressage horse.
I graduated from Oxford College of Equine Physiotherapy with a Diploma in McTimoney-Corley Animal Manipulation, and I also have a degree in Psychology and Animal Behaviour and a degree in Equine Science. I have attended courses run by Kelly Marks through Intelligent Horsemanship which include the Join Up course and a study in Horse Psychology.
I firmly believe that a healthy horse makes a happy horse, and I apply the same philosophy to dogs. Therefore my job is to make them as comfortable and pain free as possible, maintaining a pain-free horse is paramount to animal welfare and their well-being has always played a very important role in my relationship with my animals. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to apply this to my client’s horses and dogs, to this end I also give Riding Club and Pony Club talks, educating owners and riders in the importance of maintaining a healthy back to ensure their horse is happy and working to its full potential.
